Chuck Hawes Custom Dark Stabilized Maple Copperhead Burl Pattern Damascus Bolsters and Blade

The Chuck Hawes Custom Copperhead is a classic slip joint design made in the traditional fashion. Handsome, Dark Stabilized Maple handle scales are flush fit to Damascus bolsters on stainless steel liners for a classic appearance. The handles house a single hand forged Burl Damascus blade.

Blade:  Hawes hand forged Damascus combines 180 layers of 1080, 5160 and 15n20 high carbon steels creating a unique Burl pattern. The Copperhead-style clip point blade is opened with single nail nick and comes razor sharp. File work at the thumb ramp adds some traction and a custom feel. The blade opens with a pronounced half stop with strong back spring construction.

Handle: Stainless steel liners support rich, Dark Stabilized Maple wood handle scales and hand forged Damascus bolsters all meeting seamlessly. The bolsters form a subtle index finger guard for added security. A full length Damascus backspring rounds out the handle construction and is embellished with the same file work found on the spine of the blade.
